Main Street Diner in Nelson

Food was great and the staff was so accommodating to our 15 month old. Recommend for sure.

This used to be one of my favourite restaurants for comfort food in Nelson, but I won't be back. The burger they served me was not cooked, and when I sent it back they returned my burger with the bite I had taken out of it. What did they do? Just throw it back on the grill for a few minutes and slap it back together? Gross. I didn't eat it - I couldn't eat it. So disappointed, and I'm not usually one to complain.

Being next door to the Diner, our crew here frequently eats here. We would travel to the other end of downtown to eat this food! Love it! The staff (Nick, Nancy, Lawrence, etc.) are amazing an totally community people! Keep up the great work over there, and can smell the fries now! Sincerely, VPO Crew!

Didn't eat there however every place on Baket is good.

They have a very large serving of fish and chips here. Worth it. Even though you will be uncomfortably full. Staff were friendly and the prices were good.

Shrimp Dinner salad, Burger, and Fish and Chips were all delicious. Great food, and reasonable prices.

They've got a nice socially distant seating area in front of the restaurant. The mushroom burger was great.

Great place to grab a drink and watch FIFA! This place serve the delicious Nelson craft beer.

Good clam chowder and the Caesar salad had lots of shrimp. They just need to offer a Manhattan style clam chowder.

The fish and chips are reknown to be excellent and it's true. The portions are generous, I can usually only tackle one piece. The music played was a playlist of the server (who was great) and it was wonderful.

The Mocha and Chocolate Cheese cake was very lite and tasty. Restaurant made I believe the menu had said.

Every item on the menu in any category is a winner ..complex flavors, crisp distinct ingredients (not a soft mashup of whatever)

We stop in several times while visiting Nelson (my hometown). I always get the broiled chicken rolled-in pita with Greek salad and my husband gets the mushroom deluxe burger. My kiddos tend to get the chicken fingers and fries. We all leave happy. The food is exceptional and the service is phenomenal. The pitas are warm and soft with a little chew and the burgers are made with 100% chuck and grilled to perfection. Their attention to detail is second to none. We love this place! Oh and don't miss their legendary fish and chips, if that's your fancy. Wow! Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

Busy but rightfully so. The best fish and chips I've ever had and wonderful on price, (The picture I posted of my meal this afternoon $14.00) Great staff, clean restaurant and wonderful service!We always look forward to popping in! You won't be dissapointed when you do!

Great food with a wide variety to choose from on the menu including healthy kid-friendly meals and delicious desserts. The business is licensed to serve liquor as well. Friendly waiting staff and professional cooks provide a warm and welcoming dining experience with the choice of either dining indoors or outside in the patio area. Big screen TVs during sports seasons provide the up-to-date viewing of all your favorite games. Definitely check this place out!

The blue cheese burger is the bomb!

Today I walked ALL around downtown looking for somewhere to eat with my family. Main Street was one of the ONLY safe places I found to eat. ALL the staff are wearing masks and their social distance game is on POINT. I grew up here in Nelson and I’ve been so heart broken over the years to discover what has become of my little home town. Now during this pandemic it is completely disheartening to see SO many business and RESTAURANTS taking NO protocol to protect our home. THANK YOU MAIN STREET! For stepping it up and setting an example. 5 stars for safety & protecting our community <3

Food was excellent. Staff very kind. The environment isn't the best however - kind-of worn down, perhaps intentionally? Bathroom scent was unpleasant- not the best for building an appetite. Would consider coming back.

Main street has really good steak. Also their clubhouse sandwiches are so good! Its hard for me to pick my favorite thing on their menu because it is all really good and the staff are always super friendly.

Tasty food, Attentive server, friendly without being intrusive. Not familiar with Greek food but he gave us good recommendations. Nice outdoor seating. I'd give it 5 stars but they were out of baklava and apparently the owner was out and it's her recipe.

We were in Nelson for the day and were looking for somewhere to eat with a nice menu. We happened upon this quaint little diner and had the most amazing mid afternoon mean. The two young men on staff were so pleasant and thoughtful. Tasty food, well prepared and very fresh. I had the beef souvlaki pita with Greek salad, and was not disappointed. My wife had a cheeseburger, and said it was one of the best she'd ever had. Sat at the front tables with the floor to ceiling doors wide open, which was very pleasant.

Best Mojito I've ever had, delicious food, wonderful service, and a perfect location. Lots of great options on the menu, and everything is super reasonably priced! 10/10 recommend

Food was great enjoyed talking to the host. Waiters were a little slow and took 20 minutes to get our bill in the heat.
